Hi, I’m Crystal! I am a nurse by trade but am a traveler at heart. I am passionate about people and I love learning all aspects of the world’s many cultures. I am a nature lover and enjoy the many beautiful sights that the world has to offer. Traveling helps me to feel connected to others and often just makes my soul happy.

I knew from a very young age that I wanted to see the world. I have always been fascinated with other cultures and dreamed of someday becoming a world traveler. I experienced an economically challenged childhood so traveling never seemed attainable to me until I was much older. I always thought traveling was only for the very rich, thankfully I was wrong! In college I studied anything and everything I could about the people of the world from cultural anthropology to Spanish language to geography to world religions to art, etc… You name it, there’s a good chance I studied it at some point! Science won me over though and I eventually landed on nursing.

I have seen quite a bit of the United States but I decided to take my first trip out of the country at age 34. I chose Ireland because, well, Ireland! But also because going to an English speaking country seemed a little less daunting to me. I had no idea what I was doing but I booked the flights and figured out the rest. I had the time of my life and was hooked! I returned home with a new goal: Figure out how to make travel affordable so I could do it all the time. Since then I have continued to travel and feel more inspired with every trip I take.

I am from Oregon and love spending most of my time in the pacific northwest. There is so much to do and see here, and often times it’s not far from my own backyard. I have some great tips on traveling in this area, but I also want to share my adventures abroad. My goal is to inspire others to get out and experience the world without breaking the bank.

Thanks for reading about me and I hope you enjoy my adventures!
